This car was purchased by my father for his wife back in about 1980. It was driven as her daily driver until some time in the mid 1990’s when parts in Australia became too hard to acquire…I’m sure the creature comforts of a new SUV also became too hard to resist later in life. The Stag sat gathering dust for the most part of the ’90s only venturing out for the occasional short trip here and there. In about 2005, with the popularity of eBay and other online market places, I started to buy the bits and pieces it needed. Many times I tried to buy the car from Dad to no avail. In 2015, after 10 years of pestering and using it as our wedding car, he eventually caved, it was finally mine!
Since then I have made the following minor upgrades to make the car more suited for daily use in this day and age…and to give it a slightly more aggressive look.
- Remote keyless entry & alarm
- Bluetooth stereo & upgraded speakers
- 14″ x 7.5″ Globe Bathurst wheels
- 225/60/R14 BFGoodrich T/A Tires
- HID high beam headlights
- LED interior & dash lighting
- TR6 front spoiler
- Tinted windows
I have retained all the original parts so the car can easily be returned to factory options with little effort.
